Family
Development is an
in-depth program in which selected applicants receive emotional and
financial support in achieving job or education related goals. The

program is at the core of Lifeline's mission and is designed to assist
low-income families in making the transition from agency-dependency to
self-sufficiency. Families may remain in the program for up to two
years.

After completing an application and interview process,
selected
families will be assigned to a case manager who will meet with the
family weekly to set goals, track progress and provide emotional
support. Each family sets their own goals, which may include removing
barriers to self-sufficiency, strengthening the family system or
improving the family's financial status. One goal must involve job
training or education.
Funds are available for these families to help them reach their goals
and can be used at the discretion of the case manager. In addition,
incentives are given to families for completing their goals.
Interviews are held semi-annually for the Family Development
Program.
Interested families should contact Lifeline to be put on the interest
list. Families on the interest list will be contacted when interviews
become available.
