HOME Funds Rental Program
Through this program, Lifeline can assist families with obtaining safe and affordable rental housing in Lake County. Eligible families can receive up to $750 combined assistance for first month rent and security deposit once they have completed the application process and the new rental home has been inspected by our Housing Coordinator. Applicants will receive information regarding tenant rights and fair housing practices.
The following are the requirements for this program:
- Tenant must be requesting assistance for the first time.
- Provide prove of all household gross income for the last 30 days.
- The rental unit must have a 12 month lease.
- Inspection of vacant rental unit to be completed before tenant moves in.
Mortgage Down-Payment Assistance Program
Eligible first time homebuyers may be able to obtain down-payment assistance on a home within Lake County. After an application process, income eligibility verification, homebuyers counseling sessions, and a credit counseling session customers may receive up to $3,000 toward a down payment.
Homebuyers Counseling Classes
A required aspect of Lifeline’s Mortgage Down Payment Assistance Program, these classes are also open to any first time homebuyer wishing to learn more about purchasing and maintaining a new home. These classes are led by industry professionals such as a Realtor, bank loan officer, home inspector, title agent, Fair Housing representative, home insurance agent, and a credit counselor.
