Lifeline Inc.
Mission statement: Lifeline for the Empowerment and Development of Consumers Inc helps Lake County residents by offering emergency assistance and life skills training to increase self sufficiency.
Community Action Agencies (CAAs) are nonprofit private and public organizations established under the Economic Opportunity Act of 1964 to fight America's War on Poverty. Community Action Agencies help people to help themselves in achieving self-sufficiency.
Lifeline, Inc. is Lake County's Community Action Agency
Program requirements: All programs require completion of intake paperwork with one of our staff members, usually by appointment. Customers must provide income verification, social security numbers and birthdates for all household members, and other documentation as specifically required by each program. All customers must also be Lake County residents.

- In 2010, Lifeline's Community Services Office served 1,250 Lake County households, which included 2,260 Lake County individuals.
- During the 2010-2011 HEAP Winter Crisis Season, over 1,500 Lake County households received assistance keeping their heat on.
- During the 2011 HEAP Summer Crisis Season, over 480 Lake County households received assistance with cooling during the hot summer months.
